Amazon Launches SMS Buying Service

Amazon has launched a service that that does just that.  Users text the name of a product, its UPC or ISBN to an Amazon short code. If the item’s in stock, the user will receive two product listings via SMS and then can either check-out the price or purchase.

Last Word:  Some stores already prevent shoppers taking photos of products for the fear they’ll then attempt to buy online for less.  This service could add even more immediacy to the bargain hunter’s armoury.
